THE ‘BURBS (1989) – Ray Peterson
MV5BMTMwOTYzMTkzMl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMDI0OTUxMQ@@._V1_SY317_CR3,0,214,317_AL_

Synopsis – An overstressed suburbanite and his paramilitaric neighbor struggle to prove their paranoid theory that the new family in town is a front for a cannibalistic cult.
Tom Hanks – plays the overstressed suburbanite.
Co-stars – Bruce Dern, Carrie Fisher, Corey Feldman, Henry Gibson & Rick Ducommun.
Best Parts – most of the score, the distinct cartoonish differences of each character in this Cul-d-sac. When Tom Hanks starts chanting so that he doesn’t have to hear Art but Art talks over it with “Satan is good. Satan is our pal…”, They did the “We know that they know that we know that they know” before FRIENDS. What happens after “Ray… this is Walter”,  the army guy holding the brownies above his head as they approach the neighbors with their wives, Corey Feldman.
Worst Parts– That it’s Bruce Dern instead of Christopher Lloyd, Edward Scissorhands is better, Corey Feldman.
Best Hanks Acting – He’s pretty consistent throughout, when he bangs into the door and crushes the cans, Hanks with the sardine. Tom freaking out at Art at the end.
Best Line(s) –  “Hey Honey, I think we should move.” “I’ve never seen someone drive their trash to the end of the street and bang the hell out of it  with a stick. I’ve never seen that.” “It’s just some litter… the guy’s a litter bug”.

Overall (84 = B)

EXCEPTIONAL – (A+) 95 – 100
EXCELLENT – (A) 90-94
GOOD – (B) 80 – 89
AVERAGE – (C) 70-79
NOT A FAVORITE  – (D) 60 – 69
SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN MADE – (F) – 50 – 59
